Recently, I had the honour of being invited as a guest to the BagHolder Pod – a popular YouTube channel hosted by 4 of the very best in the investment industry in Boon Tee (@BoonTee), Chi Keng, Eric (@Eric), as well as Kelvin (from Kelvin Learns Investing) – on this note, I would like to sincerely thank Boon Tee and Eric for the invite.
During this interview session, which lasted just under an hour, I discussed several topics, including:
- What I was doing prior to becoming a full-time retail investor and trader.
- One of the most common newbie mistakes made early in my journey (it involves mixing trading with investing).
- Why my portfolio comprised predominantly of Singapore REITs and banks.
- The main reason behind my writing of ‘building your REIT-irement portfolio’ book.
- What is my take on the outlook of interest rates, as well as in the growth of REITs (in terms of its financial performance and distribution payout to unitholders).
- How I am intending to re-build my US investment portfolio.
- What is the catalyst that led to my decision to finally start my own YouTube channel (you can subscribe to it here), and what I am intending to talk about in my videos (special thanks to Kelvin for his advice on how I can build up on my Youtube channel).
- And much more…
You can check out the full video here:
I hope you’ve enjoyed the video, as much as I did during the recording (as I love sharing about my journey and experiences – I can really talk “non stop” when being asked about it). If you have any questions for me, feel free to let me know here – I will do my best to answer each and every single one of them.

Stop Spending Hours Reading REIT Reports Every Quarter!
What if you could assess a REIT's portfolio occupancy, debt profile, valuation, and overall health in less than 30 seconds - without having to comb through a single quarterly report?
That's the problem the REIT Screener was built to solve.
Developed through a collaboration between ShareInvestor and The Singaporean Investor, the REIT Screener consolidates many of the key metrics and indicators I personally use when analysing REITs into one easy-to-use platform. Instead of spending hours extracting data manually every earnings season, you can now monitor the REITs you own and research new opportunities in just a few clicks.
If you're serious about REIT investing but don't have the time to manually track quarterly developments, the REIT Screener could be the shortcut you've been looking for:
